Janet Marie Knechtel

Age 86, of Spring City, TN, formerly of Pittsburgh, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Janet was the daughter of the late George W. and Janet Johnson Strachan. She helped her husband, Harold, operate his business in Pennsylvania before moving to the Spring City community in 2000. Janet was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Spring City.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Harold Knechtel; son Keith (Diane) Knechtel, daughter Karen (Bill) Gery, son-in-law George (Deonna) Jones; grandchildren Lt. Col. William (Christine) Gery, Benjamin (Katlin) Gery, Amanda Jones, and Ashley (Kyle) Foti; great-grandchildren Calleum William Gery and Amelia Jane Gery.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Janet Jones and brother Donald Strachan.

Friends received Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. Service in the funeral home on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dennis Molnar officiating. Burial to follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
