Age 98 of Whitehall, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. Beloved and cherished wife of the late Charles N. "Chuck" Hollis Jr. Devoted and loving Mother of Deborah Ann (the late Peter C. Tassari) of Pittsburgh, Michael C. (Vicki) Hollis of N. Huntington, Pa. and Charles M. (Christine) Hollis of Sarasota, FL. Daughter of the late Charles J. and Anna R. (Catania) Morgano. Sister of the late Vincent (Marie) Morgano, Josephine (Girton) Walker and Caroline (Cork) Giancola. Adored Grandmother of Michael Hollis, Kathleen (Chris) Wilson, Braden (Brenda) Hollis, Christina (Easton) Mossman and Carol Ann (Taylor) Fulk. Cherished Great Grandmother of Mason Hollis, Cecilia and Sophia Mossman, Eliza and Emory Fulk. Anna is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Anna was born and raised on 25th & Penn Ave. in the Strip District in Pittsburgh, after her family arrived from Sicilia, Italy. Later moving to Mt. Washington and graduating from South Hills High School class of 1944. Her Family moved to Beechview in 1960, where she remained for 63 years until moving to Whitehall in 2023. 58-year member of St. Pamphilus Church until its closing in 2018. Anna will be sorely missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
Anna had a love for life, always with and for her family and friends. She will always be remembered as being there for everyone. Anna loved cooking her Italian family recipes for family, friends, parties and holiday’s where everyone was welcome and there was always a house full. We are thankful for every moment we shared with her. We cherish that we had the opportunity to say goodbye and that she was surrounded by her loved ones during her last moments. We are comforted knowing she has arrived at her final resting place joining our Lord and all of those who have gone before her.
The Family would like to thank our dear sister Debbie for the unwavering care she provided our Mother over the last 13 years and remaining by her side day in and day out since moving to Whitehall. It is without a doubt the reason our beautiful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many lived such a long and full life. In addition, we’d like to thank her nurses, Michelle H., Carrie B., and aide Carrie M. from Family Hospice Care. Also, caregiver Theresa F., for their outstanding care and love for our Mother.
Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20th, at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 21st, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Maronite Church (formerly St. Pamphilus Church), 1000 Tropical Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
