Antonio Caruso Obituary

Age 54, of McCandless, formerly of Brookline, on April 30, 2020. After a long and courageously fought battle with cancer, Tony is now at peace. Beloved husband of Daniele R. (Casson) Caruso. Loving father of Rocco Caruso. Brother of Joanne (Robert) Matrascia, Maria (Carmen) Scolieri, and Laura (Frank) Milfeit. Son of Rose (DeSensi) Caruso and the late Antonio J. “Tony” Caruso. Son-in-law of Wilma J. (Wisniski) and the late Donald G. Casson. Brother-in-law of Diann R. (Chris) Fresa and Dawn M. (Tony) Argirakis. Dedicated dog-father to Frazier and Leo. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Tony loved, and was loved—widely and well. As an educator at North Allegheny High School, Tony was a deeply invested teacher, highly respected colleague, and generous mentor. He taught passionately and changed lives. The greatest loves of Tony’s extraordinary life were his family, his dogs—Leo and Frazier, and education. And to those loves, he gave his time, his attention and his gifts—freely and fully. He was a rare and spectacular human being for those who were lucky enough to know him. To honor Tony, a memorial fund has been created to provide Tony’s son, Rocco, the necessary funds to continue his education into college. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for everyone to be a part of Tony’s legacy by donating to the “Antonio Caruso Memorial and Scholarship Fund” for Rocco. www.gofundme.com/f/anthony-caruso-memorial-and-scholarship-fund. Due to the current health crisis, services were held privately for the family. A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish, St. Pius X Church, with a committal service and inurnment to follow in Calvary Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh., PA 15216.
