Age 87, formerly of Beechview, on May 30, 2022. Beloved husband of Rosalind M. (Cobbs) Waller. Preceded in death by parents Herman and Mabel Waller, and sister Edna Mae Redding. Brother of Herman (the late Faye) Waller. Loving father of the late Michael Waller and Celia Flewellen. Grandfather of Jasmine (Rico) Ross, Cassandra Flewellen, and Erika Flewellen. Great-grandfather of Celia Ross, Destiny Clark, and Ryder Gibson. Art will also be sadly missed by Daughter in-law Toni Waller, along with loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Art was a 1953 graduate of South Hills High School, served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny County in 1993. Upon retirement he continued his many activities: ushering at St. Catherine of Siena Church, serving on the board of Beechview Manor and Elder-ado Senior Citizen Center. He was a dedicated and caring member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville/Mt. Oliver. Art was generous, kind, and always willing to lend a hand. In 2003, he received the Manifesting the Kingdom Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Friday, June 3, 2022 in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish—St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1909 Broadway Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Burial to follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania at alz.org/pa.
