Diane B. Scheuering

Age 72, of Erie, PA, formerly of Brookline, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Daughter of the late George A. and Bernice M. (Giegucz) Scheuering. Beloved sister of Janet (Warren) DelRaso, Cathy (the late David) Schwartzmiller, Mary Beth (Bob) Abbiatici, Jo Anne Newcomb, and the late George Scheuering. Diane is also survived by and will be dearly missed by her best friend of over 35 years, Denise Bakich; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Diane was a compassionate, hard-working, devoted, and wonderful teacher, dedicating over 30 years of her life to education. Diane started her teaching career in Tyler County, WV, and then spent the remainder of her career teaching for the City of Erie School District. Diane touched the lives of countless students and co-workers over the years and was awarded “Teacher of the Year”, in Erie, PA. Diane enjoyed reading, cheering on and supporting all Pittsburgh sports teams, and regularly beating people in racquetball, tennis, and in later life, golf. Diane also enjoyed trips to the casino. She was usually lucky and loved the atmosphere. She will be sadly missed by her loved ones and friends.

As per Diane’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Graveside Committal Service, on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:30 a.m., in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 2900 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317. Diane will be laid to rest immediately following services. 
In memory of Diane, her family strongly encourages donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, Pittsburgh Office, 2835 E. Carson St., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
