Dorothy Donatelli Cibulas, age 97, of Sewickley, formerly of Brighton Heights, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from natural causes. She was born Dorothy Donatelli to the late Anselmo and Illuminata Donatelli on August 30, 1925, in Homewood. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph J. Cibulas, an infant sister, Lillian, and her two best friends, daughter, Ann (John) Puskaric, and sister Betty (William) Lofink. Dorothy was the last surviving member of the Anselmo Donatelli Family of the Donatelli Granite Company, Pittsburgh. She is survived by two sons Joseph (Marianne) and George (Mary Anne). Grandmother of: Allison Cibulas, Rachel (Ethan) Cirinelli, Julia (Greg) McFarlane, George A. Cibulas II, and Andrew (Jennifer) Cibulas. Great grandmother of: Alexander Joseph Cirinelli and C. Henderson Cibulas. She graduated from Westinghouse High School and attended Mercyhurst College, receiving her degree in education. Dorothy attended Duquesne University for her Master’s degree in counseling where she met her husband, Joe Cibulas. They were married June 12, 1948. Joe died one month shy of their 50th Anniversary. Dorothy was a tenured faculty member of Robert Morris University, a member of the 20-Year Club, where she was named Professor Emerita of Administrative Management and Business Education. During this time, she was instrumental in developing the Cooperative Education Program, placing hundreds of students in internship positions. During her professional career she was an active member of Executive Women International. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 25th, from 4-7 p.m. at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 26th, at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish—St. Pius X Church, 3040 Pioneer Ave., Pgh, PA 15226. Private burial to follow on the Donatelli Family Plot where she will be reunited with her husband, daughter, and sister.
