Age 94, of Hampton Township, formerly of Beechview, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2022. Beloved husband of Mary B. (Gibson) Winter. Loving father of Mary (Charles) Zambito, Christian Winter, Gregory (Michelle) Winter, Laura (Sean) Riley, Suzanne (Mike) Duer, Andrew (Eugenia) Winter, and Elisabeth (Mark) Smallwood. Beloved Grampy of 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Anne, MaryAnn, Grace, Dorothy, Florence, Cassie, Barb, George and Cecelia. Norbert will be sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Dr. Winter was an Optometrist serving the Beechview and the North Side communities for over 50 years. Dr. Winter will be forever remembered for his accuracy, patience, kindness and positive influence that he had on so many. Norbert served in the United States Army during the Korean War as an Optometrist posted near Paris. Norbert was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan, and fisherman. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to People Concerned for the Unborn Child or Angels’ Place. Friends received 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish—St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1810 Belasco Ave., Pgh., PA 15216. Burial to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
