Edward T. McMullen

Age 77, of Beechview, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Laura R. (Thatcher) McMullen. Loving father of Tara (Clint) Proie. Grandfather of Mara Proie and Jenna Proie. Son of the late Thomas E. and Lillian J. (Eleam) McMullen. Brother of Betty Lou (Steve) Lamanna. Uncle of Jennifer (Derek) Lang. Ed will be sadly missed by his dog, Gracie. Ed grew up in Beechview, where he attended grade school at St. Catherine’s, and was a 1964 graduate of South Hills Catholic High School. He was able to continue his education, by playing football at Central Missouri State University (now known as the University of Central Missouri). He later attended Robert Morris for some business classes. Ed retired as an operating engineer for US Steel. He was a proud 29-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 95 and served on the executive board for 25 years. Friends received 3-7 p.m. on Friday at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish—St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1810 Belasco Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Burial to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
