Age 100, of Oakland, died on Monday, May 13, 2024. Beloved husband of 45 years to the late Fannie Nadle. Son of the late Herman and Yetta Nadle. Loving father of Jonathan (Lori) Nadle. Brother of the late Walter (Shirley) Nadle. Uncle of David (Betsey) Nadle and Doug (Phyllis) Nadle.
During WWII, Irving proudly served in the 123rd Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) in the South Pacific. After the war, he moved from NYC to Pittsburgh to pursue a degree in social work, at Pitt, under the GI Bill. He spent most of his career as a social worker, helping at-risk students and families in the Allegheny Valley school district.
The family wishes to thank: Irving and Fannie’s longtime physician, Dr. Ellen Berne; Senior Living Advisors; the staff and volunteers at Juniper Senior Living in Greentree and at Paramount Senior Living in Baldwin. Also, VITAS and Paramount hospice.
Irving was a big believer in helping out worthy causes, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Group Against Smog and Pollution (GASP) at: www.gasp-pgh.org, 1133 S. Braddock Ave #1A, Edgewood, PA 15218, or to a charity of one's choice.
Friends received on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m., at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh., PA 15216, where Full Military Honors will be rendered for Irving, immediately following the Funeral Service. Interment will be held privately at Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
