Age 87, of Brookline, on Friday, December 8, 2023. Beloved husband of the late D. June (Winklmann) Garrubba. Loving father of James E. (Julie) Garrubba and Thomas H. (Kara) Garrubba. Grandfather of Ashley Marie (Nick) Zitcovich, James Raymond "J.R.", John William, and Carly Grace. Great-grandfather of Arthur Alan Zitcovich. Brother of the late Frank (Jacqueline), Nicholas, Joseph "Junior" (Earlene), Anthony (Loretta--still surviving), and Rose Marie (Edward--still surviving) Motznik. Son of the late Giuseppe and Rose (Scalise) Garrubba. Jimmy will be sadly missed by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Along with his two brothers, Frank and Junior, Jimmy was part owner of the Garrubba Bros. Meat Market on Brookline Blvd. for 35 years. Jimmy was also a Democratic committee man for Brookline for almost 40 years. He was a baseball coach for Brookline Little League Baseball and was a devoted worker at the Our Lady of Loreto Bingo nights.
Friends received 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish--St. Pius X Church, 3040 Pioneer Ave., Pgh, PA 15226. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
