John Foley, age 68, of Brookline died on Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 5, 1952 in Pittsburgh to the late Francis and Ruth (Bevington) Foley.
John was a welding teacher at South VoTech High School for 30 years before he retired in 2011. He was a welding instructor for Boilermakers Local 154 apprentice program and was instrumental in the development of the welding program at Pittsburgh Technical Institute (PTI). John served as the past president of American Welding Society.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his twin brother Joe and his brother David.
John was the beloved husband of 45 years of Maureen “Cookie” Foley, loving and devoted father of Brandon Foley and his finance’ Lindsey, brother of Frank (Beth) Foley of Ben Avon, William (Pat) Foley of West View and Charles (Patti) Foley of Nevillewood. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23rd from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24th at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, of St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish, 1810 Belasco Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Entombment to follow in Christ our Redeemer Cemetery.
