Age 93, lifelong resident of Beechview, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Son of the late Anthony S. and Maria (Mazzari) Gimigliano. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn J. (Lapinski) Gimigliano. Loving father of John J. (Cynthia) Gimigliano, Jr. and Cathy M. Fury. Cherished Pap-Pap of Jake, Grant, Nicholas and Alexa. Loving great-grandpap of Kaylee, Hannah, Jace, Owen and Nathan. Brother of Ron (Jane) Gimigliano and the late Anthony (Shirley) Gimigliano, Betty (Robert) Pitacciato and Josephine (Anthony) Frank. John will be dearly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
John was a highly decorated United States Army Veteran; proudly serving his country during the Korean War, earning the rank of Corporal.
Family & friends received on Thursday, September 4th, from 3-7 p.m., BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh., PA 15216. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 5th, at 11 a.m., in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish – St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1810 Belasco Ave., Pgh., PA 15216, where full military honors will be rendered immediately following Mass. A private burial for family will take place at a later date. John will be laid to rest with his late wife, Evelyn, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
