Lillian Behun Obituary

Age 85, of Beechview, on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. Preceded in death by beloved husband John Behun and cherished son Kevin Behun. Born January 27, 1926 in Hazelwood, daughter of the late Stephen and Theresa (Pek) Bodis; dearest Mother of Velmalee Bauer (Fred) of Jacksonville FL, Vaughn Behun (Sherry) of Hampton VA, Deborah Behun of Pittsburgh, John Behun (Victoria) of Peters Township, Renee Swisher (Timothy) of Castle Shannon, Lillian Theresa Calo (Salvatore) of Mt. Washington, Lorraine Folino (Ronald) of Canonsburg, and Stephanie Messina (Thomas) of Brookline; beloved and devoted grandmother of Vanessa Fountain, Lauren Montoya (Mario), Lisa Behun, Michelle Hickman (Philip), Jonathan Behun, Stephen Magnuson (Sherry), Nathan Magnuson, Don, Megan, Jillian and Kevin Swisher, Zachary and Veronica Calo, Ron, Matthew, Victoria, and Bradley Folino, Olivia, Philip, Nicholas, and Sophia Messina; great-grandma to Lilly, Christian, Cameron, Isabell, Aaron, Donavin, Logan, Elana, Grant, Maiya, Ian, Connor, and Ronnie; loving sister of Elmer Bodis (the late Agnes) of Munhall. Preceded in death by sister Velma; brother Eugene; aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lillian's happiest times were spent with her family. She was a skilled seamstress who lovingly created countless treasures through the years for her family and friends and a wonderful baker and cook whose Hungarian recipes have been passed along to be enjoyed for generations to come. After retiring from GNC, Lillian continued to devote her time to her faith at St. Catherine Church volunteering in numerous ways which brought her much joy. Visitation Thursday and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh., PA 15216. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Beechview. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions 1may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 1810 Belasco Ave., Pgh., PA 15216.
