Marie Celine (Edkins) Grodes

Marie Celine Grodes, age 85, passed away on January 21, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Marie was the daughter of the late Thomas Edkins and Grace Lahey Edkins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Grodes Jr.; her sons, Richard Popp, Thomas Popp, and Charles Grodes III; her granddaughter, Ashley Tomko; and her siblings, Pearl, Mary Lou, Rita, Beatrice, Thomas, and Carole. She is survived by her loving sister, Dianne Martina, and was the loving aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Jaqueline Brandner and Alicia Voskamp, and her son, Paul Popp; her grandchildren, Janelle Howells, Lexie Jenkins Grodes, Cody Jenkins, Amanda Legette, Sean Popp, Josh Popp, Michael Beckett, Chelsea Beckett, Jacob Popp, Joscelyn Potechko, Joel Hatfield, and Shane Popp; and her great-grandchildren, Matthew Dukes, Nick Tuccirone, Ashley Tuccirone, Kirsten Beckett, Joseph Britt, Maddison Howells, Zoe Legette, and Brandon Legette.

Marie was a devoted advocate for veterans, dedicating much of her time to helping those in need through veterans’ affairs. She lived her life as a true Irish woman—strong, passionate, and deeply devoted to her family and community. She will be remembered for her compassion, her unwavering devotion, and her tireless commitment to helping others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
