Mario Caruso

Age 83, of Brookline, born in Nicastro, Lamezia Terme, Italy, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Beloved husband of Maria (Sorbara) Caruso. Loving father of Anthony (Melissa) Caruso and Mario Caruso. Nonno of Gianna Caruso. Son of the late Antonio and Rosa Caruso. Brother of Anna (the late Mario) Mannella, and the late Giuseppina Gatuso, Tommaso (Connie—still surviving) Caruso, Luigi (Rita—still surviving) Caruso, Saverio (Joanne—still surviving), and Angelina (Tony—still surviving) Sapone. Mario will be sadly missed by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mario who dedicated more than 50 years of his life to his craft, was known for his warm smile, steady hand, and genuine care for everyone who sat in his chair. He started working at Patsy’s Barbershop on Noblestown Road and then continued working at Tony’s Barbershop on Banksville Road until his retirement in 2015. The barbershop was more than a place for haircuts—it was a gathering spot filled with laughter, conversation, and community. Mario had a gift for making people feel at home, whether they were longtime regulars or first-time visitors.
