Paul H. Mentzer

Age 65, of Beechview, formerly of Johnstown, PA, after a long battle with declining health, it is with great sadness that we announce that Paul H. Mentzer, J.D., passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Paul is survived by his sisters, Mary Mentzer, Virginia (Michael) Groat, Katrina Mentzer, Karolina Mentzer, and Della Mentzer. He is also survived by his brothers William Mentzer and Nathan Mentzer. 

Paul graduated from Robert Morris College in 1981 and later received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989. Paul worked for Laurel Legal Services, Inc. in Johnstown, PA and in the last few years he went into general practice.

In 1990, Paul enlisted in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged. Paul was happiest when he was outside enjoying nature. He was easily spotted on the bike trails enjoying the great outdoors.

There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Rails to Trails Conservancy, www.railstotrails.org.
