Age 88, of Brookline, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Born in Calabria, Italy on January 10, 1936, to the late Luigi and Rachela (Davoli) Macri. Beloved husband to Caterina (Scarpino) Macri. Devoted father to Rachel (Kenneth) Tallerico, Louisa (Andy) Dellavecchia, and Louis (Anna) Macri. Loving grandfather of Kenneth (Suzi) Tallerico, Chaz (Abby) Tallerico, Andrew (Amanda) Dellavecchia, Nicole (Dennis) Gooch, Caterina (Colby) Simpson, and proud great-grandfather of nine great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Luigi (Bermida) Macri and Franceso (Lena) Macri. Brother-in-law of Giuseppe (the late Immacolata) Scarpino, Raffaele (Mena) Scarpino, and Franca (the late Giovanni) Valforte.
Rocco was born in Calabria, Italy then moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he married the love of his life and started their family. After the birth of their three children, they moved to the United States in 1971. Rocco was a master cabinet maker, and he founded Macri Custom Woodworking in 1985, along with his son Louis. He enjoyed the simple things in life: watching soccer, making wine, and spending time with his family.
Friends received Friday, December 6th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7th, at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish—St. Pius X Church, 3040 Pioneer Ave., Pgh, PA 15226. Entombment to follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
