Thomas M. “Tommy” Matrascia, age 75, of Brookline, formerly of Beechview, passed peacefully with his family by his side, on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Touched at a young age by God’s love, Tommy was a man deeply inspired and moved by his faith in Christ. His life and works were centered around this experience. Sharing in his passion and love for God, was his devoted late wife, Barabara Ann Matrascia, and their five children and 17 grandchildren. If you were ever fortunate to walk into their family home and find Tommy there, you would be greeted with incredible warmth and concern for your well-being. You would unlikely leave without a conversation focused on making sure you knew that you were loved, and most importantly, loved by God. Whether it was greeting orphaned children in Brazil, helping to grow crops in Kenya for those in need, preaching in the beautiful surroundings of Costa Rica, or just running into a friend or someone he never met before in the grocery store, Tommy was passionate about the physical and spiritual wellbeing of all those who he came across in life. He was in many ways, to many people, a dependable source of faith, love, and a shoulder to lean on in hard times. And, in that, his loss would be immeasurable to us all, but for those two words you could always count on him leaving you with, “God Bless.” Beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Jenkins) Matrascia. Loving father of Bethany (Jonathan) Stewart, Rachel (Scott) Martin, David (Janae) Matrascia, Vincent (Ashley) Matrascia, and Matthew Matrascia. Loving Pap of Ella, Kylie, Caelyn, Ava, Caleb, Antonette, Frankie, Josephina, Massimo, Maria, Valentina, Giabella, David, Skylar, Jason, Jacob, and Bella. Son of the late Frank and Dorothy “Dolly” (Orsi) Matrascia. Brother of Linda (the late William) Doerfler and the late Debra Matrascia. Friends received 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Entombment to follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
