On Saturday, June 18, 2011, of Beechview. Beloved husband of Lorraine; loving father of William G., Jr. (Rosanne), Thomas E. (fiance Vivian), John D. (Sharon), and Donald J.; beloved grand- father of Michael, Matthew, Emily, Thomas, David, Jennifer, and Sarah; brother of Sr. Christopher,of Miami, Loretta Nicodemus, of Portersville, Jim, of Evans City, and the late Herman, Roy, Charles, Richard, and Sam; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill worked for Ralph Lograss in Brookline, out of Barber School, in May of 1949. After a few years, he bought his own shop in Beechview. In January of 1997, he retired and sold his shop, but worked part time in Bridgeville, and at Bernie's in Brookline. After 61 years, Bill cut his last haircut in June of 2010 for his lifetime friend, Richard, of Beechview Manor. Bill was a member and usher at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday only. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church. Interment in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, Medical and Health Sciences Foundation, 3600 Forbes Ave. at Meyran Ave., Suite 8084, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
